Description
The Hochiki DCP-R2ML-I Dual Relay Module is an intelligent addressable control module designed for use with compatible Hochiki FireNET and DCP fire alarm systems. The Hochiki DCP-R2ML-I Dual Relay Module provides two independently programmable Form C relay outputs along with an integrated short circuit isolator, all while utilizing a single signaling line circuit (SLC) address. Therefore, it offers a flexible and efficient solution for controlling fans, dampers, elevators, doors, notification appliances, and other building control functions.
Hochiki DCP-R2ML-I Dual Relay Module Function
The Hochiki DCP-R2ML-I allows independent control of two relay outputs from a single addressable module. As a result, multiple devices can be activated or controlled without requiring additional modules or SLC addresses. In addition, each relay can be programmed separately to perform specific building control and life safety functions.
Two Independent Form C Relays
The DCP-R2ML-I provides two Form C dry-contact relay outputs that can be configured for normally open or normally closed operation. Consequently, the module can be used for a wide variety of control applications including:
- Fan shutdown and smoke control
- Elevator recall
- Door release systems
- Auxiliary notification control
- Building automation interfaces
- Fire suppression equipment control
Furthermore, both relays operate independently while sharing a single SLC address.
Integrated Short Circuit Isolator
A key feature of the DCP-R2ML-I is its built-in short circuit isolator. Therefore, if a short circuit occurs on the signaling line circuit, the module helps isolate the fault and maintain communication with unaffected devices on the loop. Additionally, a dedicated yellow LED provides indication of short circuit conditions.
Intelligent Addressable Communication
The module communicates through Hochiki’s Digital Communication Protocol (DCP). As a result, the fire alarm control panel can individually monitor and control the module. Moreover, up to 127 addressable devices can be installed on a single SLC loop depending on system configuration.
Mechanically Latching Relay Design
The DCP-R2ML-I utilizes mechanically latching relays that do not require a separate 24 VDC power source for relay operation. Consequently, wiring requirements are simplified while improving system efficiency. Furthermore, relay status is maintained even during emergency conditions.
Status LED Indication
The module includes a software-controlled bi-color LED that can be programmed to flash red or green during polling and illuminate steadily when activated. As a result, technicians can easily identify module status during testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures. Additionally, the yellow LED indicates isolator operation and short circuit conditions.
