The Bosch D278S is a 12 VDC addressable detector base designed to pair with compatible smoke and heat detector heads for life‐safety fire alarm systems. Features integrated addressing (via a built-in POPIT module) and intended for use on addressable loops in systems controlled by panels such as the Bosch D7412G or D9412G (with appropriate POPEX module).
Addressable capability: The base includes a POPIT bus interface that enables individual addressing of each detector location on the loop.
Four-wire design: Accepts separate wiring for power and signal, providing flexibility in system layout and servicing.
Modular design/head removal: The base supports easy removal of the detector head for cleaning or servicing without disturbing the base wiring.
Data In / Data Out terminals: Simplifies loop wiring by providing in/out connections for the addressable bus.
Low-profile mounting: With a footprint of approximately 6.375″ diameter and 0.9″ depth, the base suits flush mounting on standard boxes.
